  1. Quick question
How are you guys going to build your box, aluminum, or steel?
What are you guys going to do about the air filter housing?
    Kindest regards

    1. So we are really taking the project in 2 phases. First, we are are going to refurbish the truck. Then we are treating the hab as a separate project. We have always planned to re-evaluate the scope of the project after finishing the truck chassis and deciding if we want to continue the project. For that reason, we really haven’t flushed out any details on the habitat build. That being said, it likely would be a welded steel frame.

We shortened the air filter housing “snorkel” by about 8-10 inches. The plan is to have a cut out in the corner of the habitat to accommodate the air filter assembly.

      1. Michael/Yvonne,
I just discovered you on Pintrest and am following you. I bought a M1088A1 (5T Tractor) about 3 months ago. which I am planning on converting into an expedition vehicle (not started yet) on a bit lager scale than yours. I’m adding a vehicle lift to the back of mine for a jeep. I’m a mech-e with similar skills evidently. I’m in Riverside, CA. We should connect. I have seen a mod of an MTV (M1083) where and OTS thin rectangular air filter housing was placed between the cab and house without loosing too much space and an LMTV (M1078) which had it lowered to fit either in front or behind the battery box. I can’t recall. Also you may want to check out ‘twoifoverland.com’. They have a converted M1083 but its not clear where their air filter went….not any good pictures.
